Councilman Steve Thomas praised Davis, who is in poor health, for his commitment and dedication to public service over his eight years on the city council and 20 years of employment with the Marshall County School Board. Davis chaired the board of the Lewisburg Water and Wastewater Department and served as a member of the Community Development Board, the Parks and Recreation Board, and the Health and Wellness Board. According to the resolution, Davis served the Lewisburg's 2nd Ward "with honor, integrity and great distinction." Family members receiving the resolution included daughter-in-law Pam Davis (in red), grandson Matthew, and sons Shelton and Steve pictured holding the honor.
