MCHS wins 2 at East Hickman

The Marshall County Tigerettes (2-5, 2-0) notched their second straight victory on Friday night when they defeated the East Hickman Lady Eagles 46-19 on the road.

In the nightcap, the Tigers (2-2, 1-1) bounced back from a disappointing loss against Giles County three days earlier by defeating the Eagles 53-39.

Having won the three previous meetings against East Hickman (1-5, 0-1), the Tigerettes took control of Friday's contest early and jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter.

The Marshall County Tigerettes (2-5, 2-0) notched their second straight victory on Friday night when they defeated the East Hickman Lady Eagles 46-19 on the road.

In the nightcap, the Tigers (2-2, 1-1) bounced back from a disappointing loss against Giles County three days earlier by defeating the Eagles 53-39.

Having won the three previous meetings against East Hickman (1-5, 0-1), the Tigerettes took control of Friday's contest early and jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter.

After opening up a 26-13 lead at halftime, Marshall County went on a 9-2 run in the third quarter to push their lead to 35-15 before outscoring the Lady Eagles 11-4 in the fourth period to cap their 27-point victory.

Senior guard Morgan Moyers led the Tigerettes with 12 points, while Mecia Reed and Allison Hargrove tallied 10 and eight points respectively.

Marissa Lyttle and Kiya Morris also added four points apiece, and Christy Pettigrew and Megan Sanders both chipped in three points.

Tiana Lee rounded out the scoring for MCHS with two points.

Kaitlyn Campbell paced East Hickman with 10 points, while Haley DePriest and Haley Umstead notched seven and two points respectively.

Tigers win

The Eagles (4-2, 0-1) came into Friday's contest riding a four-game winning streak, but the Tigers kept East Hickman's offense under wraps early on and inched out to an 8-5 lead in the first quarter before putting together a 14-6 run in the second period to forge a 22-11 advantage at halftime.

Marshall County then stretched their lead to 35-22 at the end of the third quarter prior to outscoring the Eagles 18-17 in the fourth period to wrap up their 14-point victory.

Senior shooting guard Kevin Peterson led MCHS with 15 points and Chris Walker followed with 10 points.

Cameron Bowers tallied seven points as well, while Corbin Clack and Aaron Hobbs both added five points.

Barry Mayes, Malek Sain, and Grayson Wiles also chipped in two points apiece for the Tigers, and Kacey Pleas had two points.

Caleb Profitt paced East Hickman with 14 points, while Jordan Anglin, Dalton Moore, and Austin King notched eight, six, and four points respectively.

Brandon Harvill registered three points for the Eagles as well, and Cody Shanes and Dalton Beard both had two points.
