Barbara Medley, with the law office of Medley and Spivy, was appointed as a litigation attorney for the county alongside Bill Haywood at Wednesday night's special call County Commission meeting.
Bill Haywood represents Marshall County in legal matters and also the Board of County Commissioners and the county mayor.
Medley is one of only two Board Certified Civil Trial Specialists in Marshall County.
The county is suing Developers Surety and Indemnity Company out of Iowa for $400,000 over a dispute involving Warner Ridge subdivision in Chapel Hill.
The County Commission is to meet at 6 p.m. on April 27 at the Marshall County Courthouse Annex.
