MGA heats up with four-man rumble

The heat was on Sunday afternoon in more ways than one as the Saddle Creek Men's Golf Association held their Four-Man, Two-Low Ball Tournament with 10 teams participating in the event that was won on a match of cards by the team of John Myhr, Donnie Griffis, Brian Scott, and Joe Tant with a score of 118.

The heat was on Sunday afternoon in more ways than one as the Saddle Creek Men's Golf Association held their Four-Man, Two-Low Ball Tournament with 10 teams participating in the event that was won on a match of cards by the team of John Myhr, Donnie Griffis, Brian Scott, and Joe Tant with a score of 118.

Also finishing at 118 was the four-man team of Ryan Johnson, Ricky "Goose" Sweeney, Jack Freeland, and Bubba Russell.

Coming to the clubhouse three shots back of the two top teams in third place was Ryan Johnson, Jason Lopes, Chuck Forbis, and Bill Haywood.

Individual top gross score honors went to Joe Liggett, who shot a seven under par 65.

Shelby White was next with a 70 and Mike Tankersley was in third with a one under par 71.

Hole-in-one

Tankersley also recorded the shot heard around the course when he aced the Par 3 fifth hole with a sand wedge.

The ace was Tankersley's third hole-in-one of his career.

Three players finished with a low net score of 65 with Myhr winning out on a match of cards over John Karby and Freeland.

Closest to the pins honors went to Tankersley on holes number 5 and 13, while the "Goose" knocked it tight on number 7 and Tant came within inches of a hole-in-one on number 17.
