Patty (Harris) Johnston, 81, a longtime Cobb County, GA teacher, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died Jan. 20, 2022, after a battle with kidney disease.
Patty was born on May 30, 1940, in Lewisburg, TN, with her twin sister, Peggy Harris. She graduated as valedictorian from Marshall County High School in 1958, Martin Methodist College in 1960, Tennessee Tech in 1962, and earned a master’s degree from the University of West Georgia in 1977.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy, and her parents, David Andrews Harris and Evelyn Ruth Hill Harris.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; sister, Nancy Harris Reddick; sons, Andy and Steven; daughters-in-law, Lori and Anastasiya; grandchildren, Ty, Katherine and Alexander.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Mercy Hill Church (formerly Mount Calvary Baptist Church) in Marietta, GA. Interment was held Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA.
