Chelsea Perryman, Sarah Kimbrough, and Dalton Woodard volunteered on Saturday with the county’s annual Duck River Clean Up, filling bags with trash in the area of the old Wilhoite Mill.

Overall, turnout was strong for the event, despite it having to be rescheduled from earlier in the year after heavy rains caused the river to rise. Saturday’s dry but hot weather saw dozens of volunteers fan out along the banks and on the river itself to help protect one of Marshall County’s most notable features. The Marshall County Office of Emergency Management once again volunteered their time to coordinate operations and keep participants save.
