The FMS Rockets stayed the unbeaten conference course Thursday night in Chapel Hill, easily cruising to their ninth consecutive league win via a 54-33 victory over Moore County.

The Rockets played the inside/outside game once again as Daniil Yatskov led the big guys with 15 points, while Ryley McClaran led the little guys with 13 points against a Raider squad that fell behind early and could never catch up.

McClaran busted a 3-pointer to start the game and after one free throw by Moore County's Stone Frost, the Rockets went ballistic firing off 12 straight points, beginning with a Dylan Jones bucket in the paint.

McClaran added three more points moments later when he stole the ball, scored, and was fouled.

Yatskov would get his first basket of the night before McClaran scored again, making it 12-1.

Two missed free throws by the Raiders at the end of the period led to heat-seeker by McClaran from long range, putting the Rockets up 15-1 after the first six minutes.

Hengesbach drilled a 3-bomb to start the second quarter before the Raiders got their first field goal of the game on a bucket by Julius Dixon.

One Yatskov free throw, combined with two Jones' buckets in the rough zone would be all the Rockets would put up on the board the rest for the first half, while Moore County managed eight points to trail 23-11.

The two squads traded baskets to start the second half before Forrest turned up the defensive onslaught, scoring six consecutive points on a pair of steals by McClaran and Josh Meglis, sandwiched around a rebound and put-back by Yatskov, making it a 31-13 contest.

The Rockets stayed on the metal, highlighted by a rebound and put-back by Tyler Wildrick and a 3-pointer by Meglis to lead the Raiders 42-24 at the end of the third period.

FMS finished the game just how they started, mixing it up on the Raiders as Hengesbach and Ethan Mealer both connected on 3-pointers in the period, while Yatskov and Jones muscled in baskets in the low post, and Cole Villazon added a jumper as Forrest cruised to 21-point victory.

Jones and Hengesbach finished with eight points apiece for FMS, while Mealer and Meglis added three points each, and Wildrick and Villazon had one basket apiece.

Dixon lead Moore County's scoring effort with 13 points, Frost was also in double figures with 11, Marcus Eady scored five, and Cayden Smith ended up with two points.
