Rocket righty Tanner Garvin pitched five innings of three-hit, seven-strikeout ball before the sophomore handed the ball to his freshman teammate Ryan Yelensky, who mopped up in a 1-2-3 sixth inning to cap off a 14-0 win at Summertown on Wednesday.

The Rockets put up two runs in the opening inning and they stood up for four innings as neither team scored again until Forrest busted the game open with six runs in the fifth inning.

Garvin remained strong on the hill in the fifth and watched as the Rockets tacked on five more tallies in the top of the sixth before Yelensky slammed the door on the two-touchdown shutout.

Forrest banged out 14 hits in the contest with Alex Brewer, leading the way with a 3-5 night at the plate, including two runs scored, two stolen bases, and an RBI.

Zach Horvath ( two RBIs, one run scored), Austin Harber (three RBIs, one run scored), and Thaddeus Reyes (two runs scored) chipped in with two hits apiece, while Garvin, Landon Jones, and Austin Welty all had one hit and one RBI apiece.

Boone Sweeney slammed a two-run double in the contest, Jacob Daughrity had one base knock and scored once, Logan Hollingsworth scored twice, Yelensky crossed the dish once, and so did Jesse Pruitt.

The Rockets have a home and away series on Monday and Tuesday, beginning in Lynchburg before Forrest comes back to take on Greenbrier and Cannon County in the Rocket/Tiger Classic on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
