NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The professional musical touring production, Nashville Unleashed, has teamed up with the Marshall County Board of Education to launch a county-wide songwriting competition for high school students. Students have the opportunity to submit a song, lyrics only, directly to Nashville Unleashed via their website: www.NashvilleUnleashed.com, but the deadline is Saturday, Oct. 19.

The song submissions must be about someone or something that has inspired the student. All submissions will be objectively judged by a team of Nashville Unleashed professional songwriters. Judges will be looking for creativity, inspirational content, and writing talent that can appeal to a mass audience.

Winners will be announced at a Celebration Dinner and Concert Event on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Lewisburg Recreation Center. This Concert Event is free and open to the songwriting contestants, their families, and the community of Marshall County. Seating is limited, so all who plan to attend must RSVP via the online RSVP form at www.NashvilleUnleashed.com/Marshall-Students.

There will be one winner each of the three high schools. One Grand Prize Winner will be selected from the three finalists.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a brand new Jay Turser Sunburst Guitar with built-in tuner, hard-shell guitar case, guitar stand, leather and sheepskin guitar strap, two starter guitar lessons, an annual membership to SongwritingandMusicBusiness.com, a songwriting session with Jack and Diane of Nashville Unleashed, a feature spot in a Nashville Unleashed Web Series, and an award prize pack.

Local country recording artist Shelby Lee Lowe will make a special appearance at this event.

"We were on a small hiatus from touring and it was on my heart to do something special in this community for the kids who aspire to follow a dream of music. I sincerely hope a lot of the high school students will take us up on it and let us plant a seed towards that dream." said Diane of Nashville Unleashed

The business community of Marshall County has stepped up to make this event possible for their students. New sponsors are welcome: please email events@nashvilleUnleashed.com for a sponsor form. Deadline for sponsorships is Oct. 26.
