LEWISBURG — Hits were tough to come by against visiting Spring Hill on Tuesday night for the Marshall County Tigers.
The Tigers got just three hits off strikeout artist Koen Fagen.
Fagen fired 13 punch outs against the Tigers, with Bailin Luttrell and Eli Cross both singling against the Raiders, while John Morgan Thomas’ sixth-inning double drove in the only run of the game for the Tigers.
Despite combining for eight hits off the Tigers’ pitching staff, Marshall County was able to limit the damage in spurts.
Starter Grayson Miller pitched three scoreless innings before a Tiger error allowed two Spring Hill runs to score in the top of the third.
An RBI single and another error ballooned the lead to 4-0 in favor of Spring Hill before Thomas’ RBI double put the Tigers on the board.
Spring Hill tacked on one final run on a sac-bunt in the top of the seventh.
Miller pitched six innings for Marshall County and gave up four runs on seven hits, but only one was earned.
He also struck out five.
Trey Warner pitched one inning in relief for the Tigers and struck out two, while giving up one run on one hit.

SPRING HILL — Marshall County grabbed an early lead in Monday’s game at Spring Hill, but control on the scoreboard was short-lived as Spring Hill rallied for three runs in the bottom of the inning to take the 3-1 district win over the Tigers.
It was somewhat of a pitcher’s duel between Marshall County starter Bailin Luttrell and Raider ace Cooper Inch.
Luttrell and Inch both pitched two scoreless innings to start the game before Marshall County scored on a Raider error in the top of the third.
Spring Hill answered with a three-run homer by Jake Tegeler in the bottom of the inning to account for the only offense in the game.
Thomas Beech and Grayson Miller connected for the only base hits of the game for Marshall County.
Luttrell pitched five innings and struck out nine batters, while giving up three runs on four hits.
Trey Warner pitched one inning and struck out three without giving up a hit.
The Tigers get the rest of the week off and will be back in action on Tuesday at Lincoln County.
