Students at Westhills Elementary School in Lewisburg were treated to a hands-on learning opportunity on Friday with a visit from theLab, a bus outfitted with robotics, 3D printing, drones, virtual reality, and CNC machines bringing cutting edge science and technology education to the state’s youth.

Students moved between the various stations inside the bus and had the opportunity to fly drones (pictured) high above the school, with a birds-eye view from the built-in camera.

theLab is part of the Driving Innovation program, which is program of the state Department of Economic and Community Development that has outfitted buses specifically to bring learning opportunities in science and math, entrepreneurship, or community development to the state’s rural counties.
