The North Carolina man who pleaded guilty of stealing a Marshall County ambulance was sentenced this week to six years in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
Daniel Ray Stewart, 21, of Warsaw, N.C., was sentenced by Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Robert Crigler on charges of theft, forgery and passing worthless checks on Oct. 19, 2007.
Stewart's crime led to a change in county policies on how it will sell vehicles and other personal property through an internet auction site.
