The long Fourth of July weekend offers plenty to do in Marshall County.
Chapel Hill kicks off the holiday celebrations on Wednesday, July 3, with the town’s fireworks display in the center of town at Forrest School.
The show is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
Picker’s Creek Winery also hosts their fireworks show on the 3rd but the popular event has sold out for the second straight year.
Tickets were introduced last year because the crowds showing up at the winery had grown beyond the capacity of the venue.
On Thursday, July 4, the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual parade. It will begin at 9 a.m. at 130 The Acres Shopping Center, if the weather permits.
If it rains, the parade will be cancelled. The parade will leave the shopping center in front of Goodwill and Goodies. It will end at the shopping plaza in front of Dirt Cheap.
The theme of the parade is “It’s a Grand Old Flag”. Lineup will begin at 7:30 a.m.
The Lewisburg Recreation Center will host their annual fireworks display on July 4 at 9 p.m. Bring your friends, family, and your own lawn chair to this event in celebration of the July 4th holiday.
The Marshall County High School Cross Country Team is hosting their 4th annual Tiger Dash 5k at the Lewisburg Rec Center at 7 a.m. Both runners and walkers are welcome.
Registration is $30. The last day to register early is July 2. Registration will be available the day of the race, but there is no guarantee that shirts will still be available at that time.
