The Lewisburg Fire Department responded to a fire call Thursday morning at the Dole Refrigeration plant on Giggs Road.
At approximately 9 a.m., a tow motor in one of the buildings caught fire and despite the use of several fire extinguishers could not be controlled.
Upon arrival, LPD extinguished the fire without incident, although the Marshall County Office of Emergency Management hazmat team was also called to the scene as a precaution.
Four employees of the plant were treated on scene for smoke inhalation by Marshall County EMS and released. One person was transported to the hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation.
LPD Chief Larry Williams said that there was no structural damage to the building and that once the smoke was cleared work could resume.
Williams added that he had asked county departments to assist in covering Lewisburg while his crews finished on scene.
