Junior right fielder Kwanza Pillow helped the Marshall County Tigerettes break a five-game winless streak Wednesday, driving in pinch-runner Whitney Byrd in the bottom of the 10th inning with a bloop single to lift MCHS to a 1-0 victory over the Hickman County Lady Bulldogs (3-8, 0-4 District).

Freshman starting pitcher Kayla Harmon turned in a tremendous performance in the circle for the Tigerettes to earn the first victory of her MCHS career. Harmon yielded just four hits and three walks in 10 innings of work to go along with seven strikeouts.

"Kayla did an absolutely outstanding job," said Marshall County head coach Holly Barnes. "For a freshman to show that much poise for 10 innings is amazing."

MCHS, meanwhile, played solid defense behind Harmon and committed only one error in the contest, while catcher McKenna Moffett gunned down three Lady Bulldog runners on the base paths.
