LEWISBURG — Bailin Luttrell did everything he could and then some on the mound, but just didn’t get enough run-support on Monday night as the Marshall County Tigers fell to Page in a District 8-AAA matchup, 2-0.
Luttrell tossed a complete game gem, giving up just two runs on five hits, while striking out 10 batters.
Page didn’t deliver an offensive masterpiece, either, managing just five hits against Luttrell.
The Patriots plated their first run of the game when Grant Snider ground out to first.
A second Patriot run scored on a one-out solo homer and after that one-out shot in the third, neither team pushed another run across the plate in the final four innings.
In total, Marshall County got just two hits—a first-inning single from Trey Warner and a Grayson Miller seventh inning double.

FRANKLIN — Marshall County grabbed an early lead but couldn’t hold off a late rally against Page in Game 2 of the District 8-AAA series on Tuesday night.
The Patriots rallied for three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 3-2 win over Marshall County.
Everything fell Marshall County’s way, except the final score.
The Tigers out-hit their hosts, 6-4 and got a stellar outing from Grayson Miller on the mound.
Miller went the distance and gave up just three runs on four hits, only two of which were earned, while striking out four.
Things looked promising as Marshall County got on the board first in the top of the first inning when John Morgan Thomas doubled and then stole home.
After a 1-2-3 bottom half of the inning by Miller on the mound, the senior righty helped his own cause with a leadoff solo homer in the second inning.
That 2-0 Tiger lead held until Page connected on a two RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game and then eventually scored the game-winner in the sixth on a wild pitch.
Miller’s solo homer was the biggest hit of the night for the Tigers, while Thomas also went 1-for-4 with a double.
The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday, facing Community at Coffee County at 4 p.m.
