The Elks made another statement Thursday night that they want the title back, stampeding A-Plus Collision Center 19-3 in just three innings of work to remain two games clear of second place Nichirin in the Marshall County Babe Ruth League standings.
The orange and black clad Elks banged out 11 hits in the contest as Will Johnson led the assault with a perfect 4-4 effort from the dish, including a walk, five RBIs and three runs scored.

Top batter shines
J.D. Crabtree, the league's leading batter with a .588 average, went 2-4 with four runs scored and a stolen base, while picking up the win on the mound for the Elks.
Madison Peete set the table perfectly, reaching base three times and collecting two RBIs on one hit, a base on balls, and a hit by pitch, while scoring three times.
Ben Taylor (1-2) also scored three times, drove home two runs on a pair of sac flies and walked once.
Derrick McKnight (1-3, 2B, 3RS, 1RBI, BB), Iendi Biggers (1-3, RS, RBI), and Will Vanhooser (1-1, RS, RBI) all had one hit in the contest, while Austin Wood drove in two runs on a pair of fielder's choice RBIs.
Four-run start
The Elks scored four runs in the top of the first inning and A-Plus came up with one unearned run in the home half.
The Elks crossed home plate a half dozen times in the top of the second before A-Plus managed to score two in the bottom of the frame.
In the top of the third inning, the Elks sent 14 batters to the plate and scored nine times, making 19-3.
Crabtree walked three consecutive batters with two down in the home half of the inning before putting the clamps on the contest with a game-ending strikeout.
Braden Gentry (1-2, RBI), Ethan Evans (1-1, RS, RBI, BB, SB), and Triston Underwood (1-1, RS) all had one hit apiece for A-Plus.
