The most exciting moment of Cornersville's public hearing Tuesday night was the unexpected arrival of Don Nelson, the Marshall County government zoning administrator, just after the very short and sparsely-attended meeting had adjourned. Two stockyards in Tennessee burned this week and officials say the fires will hurt their areas' farm economy. Other stockyards, however, may benefit because of the fires. Ardeth Bender of Lewisburg shares this news of her great-granddaughter, Lexys Bender. Lexys, 10, lives in Maitland, Fla., with her parents Bob and Sarah. She's the granddaughter of Roger Bender of Lewisburg. Lexys decided to forego any Christmas presents this year so she could give to someone less fortunate instead.
