Alvin Dee Skinner, 92, of Franklin, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, following an extended illness.
A native of Williamson County, Mr. Skinner was a son of the late Ed Lee Skinner and Betty Mangrum Skinner. He was a retired foreman with Nashville Electric Service with 39 years of service. Mr. Skinner was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Mildred and Margaret Skinner; a granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Adams; three sisters; and six brothers.
He is survived by four daughters, Judy Hollingsworth of Lewisburg, Carolyn Hargrove of the Holt's Corner Community, Martha Harville of Lewisburg, and Bobbie Easley of Lewisburg; three sons, Alvin Lee "Son" Skinner of Lewisburg, Leslie Dee Skinner of Lewisburg, and Kenneth Wayne Skinner of Lewisburg; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 3, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home, followed by burial with Military Honors at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
