Amy Lee Blackwell, 57, of Lewisburg, TN, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, following an extended illness. Born in Newark, NJ, Amy was a daughter of the late William Terry Blackwell and Rose Bud Wilder Blackwell. She was a school teacher at Westhills Elementary School in Lewisburg, TN. She loved her career and students. Amy was named Teacher of the Year in 2021. She enjoyed the outdoors, her flowers and gardening. She especially loved spending weekends at the cabin, boating and fishing. Amy dearly loved her family and friends and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Blackwell Sheldon, who died Jan. 26, 2022.
She is survived by her brother, Randy Blackwell of Bristol, TN; her special friend, Dennis Hunter of Lewisburg, TN; an uncle, Tommy Martin of Chapel Hill, TN; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Tim McGehee officiating. Burial will follow at the Reed-Walker Cemetery.
