Billy Donald Pigg, 81, of Petersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Maury Regional Medical Center. Mr. Pigg was a native of Lincoln County, and son of the late J.D. and Wilma Sowell Pigg. He was retired from Life Investors Insurance Company as regional vice president. He was a member of the Cane Creek Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and song leader. Billy Donald Pigg, 81, of Petersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Maury Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Pigg was a native of Lincoln County, and son of the late J.D. and Wilma Sowell Pigg. He was retired from Life Investors Insurance Company as regional vice president. He was a member of the Cane Creek Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and song leader. Mr. Pigg was well known throughout this area as a song leader for gospel meetings.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Pigg.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Murriel Cashion Pigg of Petersburg; three daughters, Marilyn (Mike) Boyette of Brentwood, Donna (Ellis) Pinkston of Petersburg, and Lisa Pigg of Nashville; one son, Larry Donald Pigg of Smyrna; one grandson, Jeremy Boyette, and three granddaughters, Amanda (Jim) Burch, Autumn (Alex) Berlin, and Jennifer Boyette; three great-grandchildren, Bauer and Skilar Burch, and Ava Berlin; two sisters, Shirley (Jim) Biffle of Donelson and Nancy Derryberry of Lewisburg; two brothers, Charles (Nancy) Pigg of Murfreesboro and Gary (Annette) Pigg of Wartrace; one sister-in-law, Deane Pigg of Brentwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted by Ted Kell and Tom Holland on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from the Westvue Church of Christ, followed by burial in Talley Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Mike Boyette, Ellis Pinkston, Alex Berlin, Jim Burch, Jeremy Boyette, and Danny Derryberry. Honorary pallbearers were members of Cane Creek Church of Christ.

London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
