Donald Ray Thompson, 64, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at Tennova Healthcare in Shelbyville, TN.

He was a native of Giles County, the son of the late Jesse Cox and Mary Thompson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was employed at Americold Logistics for twenty-three years. Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Summer. He is survived by wife of twenty years, Sherri Thompson of Shelbyville; daughters, Ashley Thompson of Nashville, Lisa (Randy) Gipson of Woodbury; son, Michael (Stacy) Thompson of Lewisburg; sisters, Kathy (Larry) Mellinger, Vickie (Randy) Thornton; grandchildren, Rhett Thompson, Makayla, Jesse Taylor and Joseph Gipson; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Rita (Mike) Spivey of Chapel Hill; brothers-in law, Steve Turner of Lewisburg, Troy (Lynn) Turner of Lewisburg, Jimmy Turner of Lewisburg; father and mother-in-law, Billy and Ruby Turner of Lewisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at 12 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, TN with burial to follow in Cochran Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, until the funeral hour.
