Eva Castella Hamlet, 92, formerly of Cornersville, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, in Cook County, Ill.
She was the eldest child of the late John and Mattie Christine Mitchell. She moved to Detroit, Mich. in the 1940s and worked for The Chrysler Corporation for 40 years.
She is survived by her sons, Preston Mitchell and Lilburn Reynolds of Nashville; and one brother, Willie J. Mitchell of Lewisburg; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 30, at St. Matthews A.M.E. Church. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery.
Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
