Ms. Evelyn Virginia Freeman, 90, passed away Aug. 4, 2018, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Annie and Willie Freeman of Belfast, TN. She was the Valedictorian of the class of 1948 of Jones High School. Ms. Freeman relocated to New York City and worked as a registered nurse at New York City Hospital for over 40 years as well as a career in modeling and politics.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers; J.W., Lanier, and Penny.
She is survived by her only sister, Esther Mason; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Visitation and funeral services were held Aug. 10, 2018, at Greater First Baptist Church. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
