Howard Eugene "Gene" Wright, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital.
He was born on June 7, 1928, in College Grove, to the late Andrew Dillehunt Wright and Emma Sue Chrisman Wright. He was a truck driver, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Park City Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Neal Wright of Fayetteville; daughters, Sandy and Bud Richardson of the Mooresville Community, Evonne and William Lynch of Lewisburg, and Rhonda and Raymond Albert of Maylene, Ala.; sons, Ricky and Gayle Wright of Petersburg and Connley and Jolanda Wright of Flintville; stepson, Tony Williams of Kelso; sister, Ruby Jordan of Spring Hill; 12 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Russell and Rev. Randy Nichols officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.
