Janice Marie Carnell, 65, of Lewisburg, passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. She was born on April 30, 1956, in Lima, OH to the late Milton and Marie Hay Jett.
Jan loved taking care of her family and was known to everyone as “Mama.” She loved to laugh and watch TV. Jan will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Carnell. She is survived by her children, Jason (Sandi) Mills, Jeremy Auspitz and Justin (Tabitha) Carnell; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Marshall Carnell, Shae Auspitz, Mya Mills (Tanner), Jada Scarfone; great-grandson, Bentley Derryberry; siblings, Nancy (Ciffor) Shelton, Sue Lara Potts, Linda Jett, Ray (Lynne) Jett, and Ronnie (Emma) Jett; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
