Jean Hunter, 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at NHC Oakwood Healthcare in Lewisburg.

Miss Hunter was a native of Farmington, and was a reporter at The National Horseman magazine for over 35 years. She never missed attending the Celebration in Shelbyville, from its beginning in 1939, for more than 65 years.

She was the daughter of the late Edgar Burt Hunter Sr. and Edith Browning Hunter, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jerre Hunter Sanders and Jane Hunter Johnson.

She is survived by one brother, Edgar Burt Hunter Jr. of Lewisburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Miss Hunter will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Temple Cemetery in Farmington, with Mark Irvin officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the memorial fund at the First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg.
