John Robert King, 65, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.

Mr. King was a native of Marshall County and a retired laborer/factory worker. He was the son of the late Robert "Bob" King and Lilly Grubs King, and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane King, and a son, John Thomas King.

He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Kay King and Susie Marsh, both of Lewisburg; one brother, Bobby King of Shelbyville; four sisters, Betty Ann Gipson of Mt. Pleasant, Linda Faye King Farmer of Culleoka, Margie Vanderford of Columbia, and Dorothy King of Lewisburg. Ten grandchildren -- Rob Byrd, Dillon Davis, William Stinnett, Brian Jett, Jessica Byrd, Courtney King, Cody Byrd, Emily Marsh, Adrienne Marsh, and Michael Marsh -- and nine great-grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services for Mr. King were held Monday, April 29, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home, with Tom Sumners officiating, followed by burial in Round Hill Cemetery in Belfast.
