John Thomas "J. T." Blackwell, 73, of Belfast, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014, at his residence.
A native of Marshall County, Mr. Blackwell was the son of the late Clarence Blackwell and Oma Rogers Blackwell.
He was self-employed and enjoyed doing small engine repair.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jason Linley, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Kathlene "Kitty" Blackwell of Belfast; five sons, Tony (Dawn) Blackwell, Ken Blackwell, Ritchie Blackwell, Linton Blackwell, and Chris Blackwell; one daughter, Shelia Linley; three sisters, Patricia (Billy) Callahan, Mildred Foster, and Annie Lou Darnell; one brother, Harold Blackwell; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Blackwell were held Monday, April 28, from the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Mike Giles officiating. Burial followed in Short Cemetery.
