Joseph E. Pittman, 65, of Petersburg, TN, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Las Vegas, NV, and was the son of the late James Earl Pittman and Loretta Reese Pittman. He was a supervisor at Cosmolab and a member of the Baptist faith. He had the gift of music and was well-known as a talented guitar picker, player, and teacher. He mentored and taught many family members, friends and children how to play the guitar. He passed on his love for music to his sons and countless other people. He was very proud of his American Indian heritage and was a member of the Round Valley Indian Tribe in Covelo, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Giovanna Pittman.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ramona Welch Pittman; two sons, Brent (Holly) Pittman, Lawrenceburg and Adam Pittman, Petersburg; two sisters, Kimsue Jett, Lewisburg and Jaci Pittman, Crossville, AL; one brother, James Pittman, Jr., Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Ambrielle and Connor Pittman; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Welch Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at London Funeral Home, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassus Hospice, 1503 Hatcher Ln, Suite 200, Columbia, TN 38401, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
