Mary Elizabeth Wolaver, 88, of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at NHC Oakwood. She was born in Giles County on March 3, 1935, to Henry Clay and Solita Missouri Hazelwood Goetz. Mary enjoyed being outside in the garden working with her plants and also loved tending to her flowers in her yard.
Visitation took place at the chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service following at 1:30 p.m. at Short Cemetery with Rick Rolin officiating.
She is survived by her son, Terry Wolaver of Lewisburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Wolaver; her parents; her daughter, Pat Taylor; brothers, Wendell Goetz and Coyle Hazelwood; sisters, Cora Brown, Diana Jones, Eloise Atkins, Hazel Adcock, and Martha Louise Holt.
