Nora Bee Doggett Carlton, 93, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Murfreesboro. She was a native of Marshall County and a daughter of the late Otha and Madie Casteel Doggett. Mrs. Carlton was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired from Henry Horton State Park. Nora Bee Doggett Carlton, 93, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Murfreesboro.
She was a native of Marshall County and a daughter of the late Otha and Madie Casteel Doggett. Mrs. Carlton was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired from Henry Horton State Park. She also worked for Forrest School in the Food Service Department and was a former manager of the Chapel Hill Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Carlton was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Carlton, who died in 1983, and her sons, Joe, Jimmy, and Richard Carlton, and her brother, Robert Doggett.
Survivors include her daughter, Shannon Carlton Brown of Chapel Hill; niece, Dorothy Doggett; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Medium Cemetery in Petersburg.
