Mr. Childress was a native of Giles County, and son of the late Harry Childress and Louise Brown Childress of Lewisburg. He was a farmer. Mr. Childress was a native of Giles County, and son of the late Harry Childress and Louise Brown Childress of Lewisburg. He was a farmer.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Fay Childress of Lewisburg; one son, Scottie Childress of Lewisburg; two daughters, Jerri Lyn Childress-Moore of Lewisburg and Janette Childress of Mt. Pleasant; stepson, Phillip Pigg, three stepdaughters, Angela Jett and Kristy Welsh, all of Lewisburg, and Kathy Holt of Cornersville; two brothers, Harold (Kathy) Childress of Lewisburg and Richard Childress of Pikeville; sister, Helen (Rankin) Speakman of Panama City, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday, Feb. 11, from 4 until 8 p.m. for visitation.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery at Talley.
