Edward "Ed" Pearson Smith, 68, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, in St. Thomas Hospital.
Mr. Smith was a native of Rutherford County, and son of the late Willie Edward and Mattie Bell Dalton Smith. He was a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Smith Voelkel.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Jett Smith of Lewisburg; two sons, Brian Keith Smith and Timothy Edward Smith both of Lewisburg; daughter, Christy Hollingsworth of Lewisburg; three brothers, Dean Smith of Lewisburg, Billy Smith of Manchester, and Joe Smith of Wheel; five sisters, Shirley Smith of Shelbyville, Agnes Cunningham of the Flat Creek Community, Rowena Shipley of Manchester, Violet Tant of Normandy, and Teresa Church of Lewisburg; and one granddaughter, Magan Hollingsworth.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 26, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Wheel Cemetery.
