Robert W. Richardon, 85, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Born Jan. 4, 1928, in Pulaski, Robert was the son of Lester L. and Sara E Thurman Richardson.

Robert was a veteran of World War II, serving as part of the Eighth Army occupational forces in Japan. After graduation from business college in Nashville, he was employed by Navistar International (formerly International Harvester). He spent the last 20 years of his employment as a corporate internal auditor, retiring in January 1987.

Robert was an ordained deacon and an active member of First Baptist Church of Bettendorf, serving in many positions.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; three children; six grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Lee of Cornersville; and one brother, Carl Richardson of Nashville.
