Roy E. Humbles, 76, of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.
Memorial Service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Stacey Durham officiating.
Mr. Humbles was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Petersburg, son of the late Charles Edward and Arneita Pearl Crabtree Humbles. Mr. Humbles served in the U. S. Navy, and worked for Kroger for many years. He was president of Local #405 until 1995 at which time the unit merged and changed the Local to #1995 where he worked until 1999. He also worked for Crestview Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lillie Foriest Humbles of Gallatin; son, Michael Humbles (Melody Ann) of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter, Tanya Jones (Casey) of Hixson, Tenn.; brother, William Earl Humbles of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
