t is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Royce Jones Nance, who passed away on April 25, 2023. Royce was born on November 30, 1938, in Maury County, Tennessee, to the late Royce C. Nance and Myrtle Ola Nance.

Royce was a devoted Christian and a member of Main Street Church of Christ. He lived a life filled with kindness and generosity towards others, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. Royce cherished his family deeply and was a loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren.

In his earlier years, Royce served as a police officer for the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. He later retired as a welder and iron worker for Nashville Bridge Company, where he worked for many years.

Royce is survived by his children, Connie (Mike) Mills and Michael Royce Nance; his grandchildren, Seth (Jamie) Nance and Cecil (Carolyn) Mills; his six great-grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew;

and his special friend, Lois Westmoreland. In addition to his parents, Royce is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Nance and James Nance, and his nephew, Greg Nance.

Royce will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kind heart and generous spirit will never be forgotten. We take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the loving arms of our Lord.

The family received friends and visitors Friday, April 28, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service was held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation starting at noon with Bro. Randy Kersey officiating. Royce was laid to rest in the Garden of Luke at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Seth Nance, Scotty Nance, Mike Mills, Randall Pruitt, Lee Bailey, and Danny Hargrove.

The family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amedysis Home Health and Dr. Miranda Wood, Dr. Anthony Khim, Dr. Matthew Endara, and Dr. Kevin Maquiling for the endless care and comfort.
