Mrs. Ruby Pearl Wheeler, 104, of Cornersville, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, at NHC Oakwood.
She was a lifelong resident of Cornersville, the daughter of the late Claude and Maggie Cardin Watson. Her family was the light of her life. She was a member of the Cornersville Church of Christ. “Granny” was a life long Bulldog supporter where she retired from the Cornersville School Cafeteria. She loved her front porch full of flowers, and the many friends that visited. Her hobbies included spending time with family, watching her flowers grow, word search puzzles, making pear preserves, playing domino’s and for the love of the game (all sports).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wheeler, three sisters and seven brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Charles) Ballinger of Cornersville, one son, Eddie Wheeler (the late Fay Wheeler), three grandchildren, Tammy (Danny) Riner, Jason (Dawn) Wheeler, and Jennifer (the late Jerome Smith) Smith, four great-grandchildren, Alicia Riner, Brittny (Jack) Hewitt, Chad Riner, Blake (Samantha) Wheeler, one great-great-grandson, Tucker Hewitt, and one great-great- granddaughter-to-be, Hadley Pearl Wheeler.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial following in Beechwood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family was held Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and continued Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Cornersville Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
