Mrs. Simmons was a Marshall County native, born December 19, 1945, daughter of Hubert and Melba Twitty Blackburn. Suzanne Lela Blackburn Simmons, 72, of Franklin, TN, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Mrs. Simmons was a Marshall County native, born December 19, 1945, daughter of Hubert and Melba Twitty Blackburn. She was a member of the Marshall County graduating class of 1963 and retired from the educational field after forty-one years of service as a teacher and guidance counselor in the Franklin Special School district. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her father, she is survived by her husband, Johnny Simmons of Franklin; daughter, Sherry (Jeff) Willhelm of Spring Hill; mother, Melba Twitty Blackburn of Lewisburg; and one granddaughter, Dalaney Willhelm.
A memorial service will be conducted by Mark Irwin for Suzanne at the First United Methodist Church Lewisburg Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 2 p.m.
