Vernetta Rose (Stevens) Watson, 88, of Lewisburg, TN passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021.
Mrs. Watson was born in Lebanon, TN on June 17, 1933, to the late Berry C. and Mattie Lou Stevens. She later attended David Lipscomb boarding school, something she was proud of.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband of 47 years, James (Jim) Watson, daughter Kathyryn (Kathy) Murrell, and son Cayce Denton.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Denton and son Curtis (Beverly) Denton of Lewisburg, TN; grandchildren, Chaz (Ashlan) Denton and Jade Denton (Seth) Hanson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jenna Watson of Nashville, TN: two great-grandchildren, Layla Denton and Blakelyn Hanson.
Vernetta had a strong Christian faith and was a longtime member of Westview Church of Christ.
She enjoyed many of things but one thing she enjoy most was cooking. She took pride in cooking every Sunday for her family.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the funeral service to follow.
