It is with sadness that the family of Wanda Grace Pierce announce her passing on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Franklin at the age of 96. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Elizabeth Gregory and husband, Duke of Brentwood and John David Pierce and wife, Geniza of Lewisburg; her grandchildren, John Cole of Nashville, John David Pierce, II and wife, Donna of Lewisburg, Elizabeth Lipa and husband, Stephen of College Grove and Andrew Pierce and wife, Pam of Lewisburg. Her great-grandchildren include Ashton Cox, Laura Pierce, Lauren Lipa, Grace Lipa, Corrine Cole, Stephen Lipa, Jr. and Addison Lipa. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband, John I. Pierce, Jr.; infant son, John I. Pierce, III; six siblings; and her parents, Lee Athel Redd and Bessie Wagster Redd.
Mrs. Pierce was a native of Moore County and sixth generation Tennessean. She eventually settled in Lewisburg with her husband where they raised their family. Grace was a devout Christian and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lewisburg where she sang in the choir and prepared flower arrangements for worship services. She later joined Brentwood Baptist Church where she enjoyed the Senior Life Groups and participated in the community garden.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Brentwood Baptist Church, 7777 Concord Road. The family asked donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
