William "Bill" Alvis Preston Jr., 71, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in NHC Lewisburg Healthcare.
Mr. Preston was a native of Moore County, and son of the late William Alvis Preston Sr. and Gladys Cates Preston Apple. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was an engineer with Inter City Products and drove a school bus for the Marshall County School System. He was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty F. Preston of Lewisburg; son, John (Tonya) Preston of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren, Brock, Cody, and Sydney Preston, all of Mobile; stepsister, Terry Martin of Clarksville; and special sister, Sherrie Hester of Russellville, Ala.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Oct. 28, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial with military honors in Lone Oak Cemetery.
